C&#8217;est ainsi que Gustave Gaveau, adjoint au maire, et Ernest Bizouard, architecte, sont charg\u00e9s d&#8217;\u00e9tudier la question et de faire des propositions. Leur choix se porte sur un mod\u00e8le propos\u00e9 par les \u00e9tablissements Favre fr\u00e8res install\u00e9s \u00e0 Chalon sur Sa\u00f4ne. Le 18 ao\u00fbt 1906, le Conseil vote l\u2019acquisition d\u2019un bateau-lavoir de vingt places qui sera achemin\u00e9 \u00e0 Semur-en-Auxois par le chemin de fer.D\u00e8s le milieu du 20e si\u00e8cle, l&#8217;utilisation du bateau-lavoir devient de plus en plus anecdotique.
